Starting from the parking brake shoe return tension spring then move on to remove the parking brake shoe strut compression spring followed by the parking brake shoe strut before taking out the parking brake shoe followed by removing the rear axle shaft with its backing plate using 4 nuts and an O-ring. Purge the parking brake shoe before extracting the rear axle shaft with its backing plate through a removal of 4 nuts and an O-ring. Remove the rear axle shaft oil seal with the help of Special Service Tool: 09308-00010. A snap ring expander tool will assist the removal process of the rear axle shaft snap ring. Finish the axle shaft removal process using Special Service Tool: 09521-25011 and 09521-25023 together with a press tool.

The installation process requires placing the parking brake shoe along with its shoe strut and strut compression spring and return tension spring in succession. The installation of the rear disc will take place before connecting the rear disc Brake Caliper assembly. Attach the Speed Sensor to the rear assembly then add fluid into the brake fluid reservoir while bleeding the master cylinder together with the brake line. The inspection should examine the brake fluid amount in the reservoir together with a search for any problematic leakage. You must install the rear wheel while torquing it to 112 Nm (1,142 kgf-cm, 83 ft-lbf) after verifying and adjusting the parking brake lever travel and checking the ABS speed sensor signal.
