The Scion Clutch Disc clings onto it and transfers engine force to the gearbox to provide snappy launches and smooth shifts to the drivers. In 2003 Scion entered the market in bright colors, simple prices and special Release Series runs that allowed young buyers to shine out and the brand sold more than a million compact cars within a short period of time and served as a rolling test lab where bold ideas could be tested. Although Scion retired in 2016, its flair of uniqueness lives in each of the applied models still roaming streets. Portable chassis, fun-to-drive, and lightweight personalization is one of the staple Scion strengths that make the daily drive exciting. At the center of that drive lies the Clutch Disc which is a friction plate that directs the torque and dampens vibration to allow clean shifting. Once Scion owners realize that it is time to change the Clutch Disc, you must start by lifting the car safely, unplugging the battery and removing the transmission until the clutch pack is exposed. Check and clean flywheel, and put another Clutch Disc on an alignment tool and align it with flywheel. Install the pressure plate on top of the assembly, insert crisscross pattern bolts to factory torque and replace the release bearing. Re-insert the transmission, reconnect linkages and hydraulics, bleed the system, test pedal travel and complete with a test drive.
