2010 Toyota Yaris Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to install the radiator and its associated components on 2010 Toyota Yaris?
A: Start by attaching the radiator drain cock into the radiator assembly before proceeding to installation. You should then put the 2 radiator reserve tank hose grommets together with the 2 radiator support cushions on the radiator assembly. The 2 claws need to be engaged to install the fan shroud followed by installing automatic transaxle oil cooler inlet and outlet hoses with clips. Insert radiator hose No. 2 by applying a clip then attach the radiator assembly to the air conditioning system by using 2 claws while avoiding harmful strain on the cooler condenser assembly or piping. You should connect the cooling fan motor connector and wire harness clamps. Installation of the radiator assembly follows as the main task if air conditioning is not included in the system. Afterward connect the cooling fan motor connector and wire harness clamps to finalize the operation. Begin by applying clips to connect inlet and outlet oil hoses and radiator hose No. 2 before installing radiator hose No. 3 with 2 clips. Route the radiator reservoir tank hose towards the water filler while installing the 4 bolts to secure and torque the 5.5 Nm (56 kgf-cm, 49 in-lbf) radiator support sub-assembly upper. Then connect the horn assembly connector. Before assembly place three bolts on the hood lock but leave them loose. Then route the engine hood courtesy switch connector and finally put the hood lock control cable assembly on both clamps. The procedure for installing the hood lock assembly will proceed as designed when theft deterrent systems are not present. Secure the two pins of the No. 1 cooler cover into the radiator support LWR through two clips. Hatchback owners need to use the six claws for installing the radiator support absorber upper. Secure the air cleaner case using 2 bolts at air cleaner inlet No. 1 while torquing them to 7.8 Nm (80 kgf-cm, 69 in-lbf) and plug the wire harness into the air cleaner case. The air cleaner element should be installed while tightening the air cleaner hose clamp to 4.0 Nm (41 kgf-cm) using 35 in-lbf measurements. Install the ventilation hose and vacuum switching valve connector and fuel vapor feed hose and intake air flow meter connector by using their respective wire harness clamps. After attaching the cable to the negative battery termination the technician torques it to 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf). Engine coolant is added before the technician adjusts the hood lock assembly by loosening then tightening the 3 bolts to 7.5 Nm (76 kgf-cm, 66 in-lbf). Check for engine coolant leakage.
