- Q: How to remove the front wiper motor on 2010 Scion xD?A: The first step to disassemble the front wiper motor starts with using a screwdriver fitted with protective tape to pry open the 2 claws of the front wiper arm head cap before taking off the 2 front wiper arm caps. The automatic stop must be activated when operating the wiper before removing the nut and separating the front wiper arm with blade assembly LH. Perform exactly the same steps for the front wiper motor on the right-hand side assembly. You should unfasten the 7 clips in order to take off the hood to cowl top seal. The technician should remove the clip before unclipping each of the 4 claws and 4 guides from the cowl top ventilator louver RH and also unclip the 5 claws and 5 guides from the cowl top ventilator louver LH. After unclipping the clamp you should remove the 2 bolts to extricate the front wiper motor and link. Follow that step by letting the link drop off the rubber pin then unplug the connector before taking off the front wiper motor and link. To remove the front wiper motor utilize a screwdriver with protected tape on its tip to disconnect the rod of the wiper link from the crank arm pivot followed by matchmarking the front wiper motor and crank arm then removing the nut and crank arm before taking out the 3 bolts that detach the front wiper motor from its position.
