The next step involves unfastening the back door trim board assembly. Start by opening the rear wiper arm head cap and removing its nut before taking away both the rear wiper arm and blade assembly. Disconnect the rear wiper motor connector before loosening bolt A followed by unscrewing two bolts to remove the motor unit by carefully avoiding attempting to touch the built-in fasteners. As the last step detach the rear wiper motor grommet.
- Q: How to install the front wiper motor and associated components on Scion xD?A:You must fasten the wiper motor with three 5.5 Nm (56 kgf-cm, 49 in-lbf) bolts while aligning its matchmarks on the motor and crank arm. Connect the electrical connector then insert the front wiper motor and wiper link. Position the rubber pin into the body before securing them with 2 bolts that need to be tightened to 5.5 Nm (56 kgf-cm, 49 in-lbf). Lastly, engage the clamp to finish the installation. Fit the cowl top ventilator louver on the left by engaging both 5 claws and guides before you clip it into place. Use the same steps to install the cowl top ventilator louver RH but connect only 4 claws and guides before putting on the clip. Insert the hood seal across seven clips. Wipe powder from both wiper arm serrated parts then run the wiper to automatic stop before tightening the front wiper arm nut to 26 Nm. Position the blade touching the mark and tighten the wiper nut to 26 Nm using appropriate torque tools making 19 ft-lbf. Rephrase this action for the right-hand wiper system. Place the two claws afterward to fasten the front wiper arm caps.
