2010 Scion xD Steering Angle Sensor Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to install the steering angle sensor and ensure proper functionality of the SRS warning light on 2010 Scion xD?
A: Mount the steering angle sensor by fitting its 6 claws to join with the 2 pins to attach it to the spiral cable. Begin by installing the spiral cable before adding the steering column upper cover which must be followed by the installation of the steering column lower cover. Adjust the spiral cable accordingly. Move forward by installing both the steering wheel assembly and steering pad after other components. During the installation process the front wheels need to be oriented in a parallel direction before you connect the cable to the negative terminal and apply a torque of 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf). The completion of the procedure requires checking for correct SRS warning light operation.
