2010 Scion xD Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How do you remove the rear coil spring on 2010 Scion xD?
A: The rear coil spring removal process begins with removing the wheel followed by draining brake fluid before washing up any paint-contacting brake fluid completely. The skid control sensor wire needs separation by using a screwdriver to remove the connector lock claws while disconnecting the connector safely without harming the wire through maintenance of the connector cover. McGill will function correctly to detach the skid control sensor wire from its nut. The brake tube should be disconnected from the rear LH flexible hose through the use of a union nut wrench while removing the clip to completely separate the hose from the axle beam. The same steps should be applied to disconnect and remove the rear RH flexible hose. You must not detach the rear axle beam bolts but should rather loosen them before taking out both rear absorber caps and rear shock absorbers from the LH and RH sides. To avoid harm to the rear coil spring proceed by lowering the jacks at a controlled pace where you remove the upper and lower coil spring insulators with the rear coil spring from both sides.
