The first step for ECM (Engine Control Module) 2AZ-FE engine control system removal requires disconnecting the mass air flow meter connector and separating the wire harness before loosening the No. 1 air cleaner hose clamp and unlocking the air cleaner assembly clamp and then removing the air cleaner cap sub-assembly. After separating the wire harness you can remove the air cleaner filter element sub-assembly. Then separate the wire harness for the second time before unbolting the 3 air cleaner case sub-assembly bolts. Begin by uninstalling both lock knobs and harness clamp followed by splitting the 2 ECM connectors and unhooking the engine wire. The next step follows with the ECM bolt removal and then unfasten the 4 screws which secure the ECM bracket.
