2009 Toyota Yaris Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to install the front lower Control Arm on the LH side on 2009 Toyota Yaris?
A: Install the front lower suspension arm on the LH side by first securing the lower arm with 2 bolts along with new castle nut installation between the steering knuckle at 98 Nm of torque (1,000 kgf-cm, 72 ft-lbf). If clip hole alignment is off, add one extra turn on the nut up to 60 degrees. Before attaching the front wheel with a torque of 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf) the mechanic needs to install a new clip. When the jack lowers the vehicle complete the suspension stabilization by bouncing it multiple times. The bolts require full torque application for Bolt A at 137 Nm (1,397 kgf-cm, 101 ft-lbf) and Bolt B at 160 Nm (1,631 kgf-cm, 118 ft-lbf). An examination for front wheel alignment correction must be done before completing the process.
