2008 Toyota Yaris Control Arm Parts Q&A
Q: How to install the front lower Control Arm on the LH side on 2008 Toyota Yaris?
A: The installation process of the front lower suspension arm on the LH side begins by securely tightening the lower arm temporarily with the 2 bolts before mounting the steering knuckle with a new castle nut that requires 98 Nm (1,000 kgf-cm, 72 ft-lbf) torque; in the case of misaligned clip holes you can apply an extra turn of up to 60 degrees. After attaching the new clip you must install the front wheel while torquing it to 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf). Lower the vehicle on the jack until you can complete suspension stabilization by bouncing it multiple times. The 2 bolts which secure the front lower suspension arm need full tightening according to the specified torque settings: Apply 137 Nm (1,397 kgf-cm, 101 ft-lbf) to Bolt A and 160 Nm (1,631 kgf-cm, 118 ft-lbf) to Bolt B. Conclude the process by examining and readjusting the wheel alignment when needed.
