When removing the throttle body from the 1GR-FE engine control system it is essential to disconnect the negative battery cable while waiting for 90 seconds after ignition deactivation for navigation system memory and settings recording. After removing the No. 1 engine under cover you should drain engine coolant followed by front wiper motor and link assembly removal. The next step requires the removal of the front cowl top outer panel sub-assembly together with the V-bank cover and No. 2 air cleaner hose and air cleaner assembly with element. The throttling operation requires disconnection of both No. 5 and No. 4 water by-pass hose assemblies together with throttle position sensor and throttle control motor connectors prior to removing four bolts that detach the throttle body assembly with existing gasket and motor.
