The first step for removing the throttle body from the 2AR-FE engine control system requires draining the engine coolant. The No. 1 engine cover sub-assembly removal procedure begins by lifting the rear portion to remove the two pins and subsequently lifting the front portion to detach the remaining pin until the cover can be completely removed. Thereafter the air cleaner cap sub-assembly must be removed. The throttle body maintenance begins with disconnecting both the water by-pass hose and the No. 2 water by-pass hose from the throttle body and ending with fuel tube removal from its clamp. You should disconnect the throttle position sensor as well as the control motor connector. By first unscrewing the four bolts within the throttle body and the fuel tube bracket you can proceed to disconnect the bolt and remove both components separately. Remove the gasket which exists between the intake manifold and its final stage.
