2009 Toyota RAV4 Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to safely remove the body emblem and name plate on 2009 Toyota RAV4?
A: Use a heat light instead of extreme vehicle body heat to gently soften the body emblem and name plate along with other components including the back door outside garnish and emblem and name plate and door mark. The first step involves preparing the no. 1 back door emblem assembly with tire carrier through wire handling to remove double-sided tape from its backing without damaging the vehicle body. Perform the same steps to remove BACK DOOR NAME PLATE (w/ Tire Carrier) and the NO. 1 BACK DOOR EMBLEM (w/ Tire Carrier). After that remove FRONT DOOR MARK LH (w/ Tire Carrier). The procedure for FRONT DOOR MARK RH is identical to what was performed on the LEFT HAND SIDE (LH). The installation of protective tape precedes piano wire insertion between back door outside garnish and name plate to allow wire handling for name plate removal without damaging the garnish. The same procedure should be followed for NO. 3 BACK DOOR NAME PLATE (w/o Tire Carrier), NO. 2 BACK DOOR EMBLEM (w/o Tire Carrier), and NO. 4 BACK DOOR NAME PLATE (for 4WD) while ensuring continuous protection of the vehicle body.
