2009 Toyota Highlander Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to install an A/C Condenser and its related components on 2009 Toyota Highlander?
A: The cooler condenser assembly installation requires the user to align it according to the provided illustration followed by bolt attachment with four total bolts. The new condenser unit requires a compressor oil addition of 40 cc (1.4 fl. oz.) using ND-8 or equivalent oil. Use ND-OIL 8 or equivalent compressor oil to prepare a new O-ring and fitting surface of tube joint before installing the O-ring and tightening the bolt to 9.8 Nm (100 kgf-cm, 87 in-lbf). Repeat the installation process of the discharge tube sub-assembly by first removing the vinyl tape before adding compressor oil to a new O-ring followed by securing it with a bolt at specified torque. After completing the installation of both 1AR-FE and 2GR-FE upper radiator supports the hood lock assembly arrives next although a special engine hood courtesy switch determines the hood lock configuration. Check and raise if needed all parts of the hood sub-assembly. Install both the No. 1 and No. 2 air cleaner inlets and then add the radiator grille followed by the cool air intake duct seal for both engine types. The work ends with filling the system with refrigerant and warming up the engine before inspecting for any refrigerant leaks.
