2008 Toyota Highlander A/C Condenser Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to install an A/C Condenser and ensure its proper operation on 2008 Toyota Highlander?
A: You can mount the cooler condenser assembly according to its illustration before tightening it with four bolts. When replacing a condenser it requires the addition of 40 cc (1.4 fl. oz.) of ND-8 or equivalent compressor oil to the new unit. Begin by removing the vinyl tape from cooler refrigerant liquid pipe A. After applying ND-OIL 8 or equivalent compressor oil on a new O-ring along with the fitting surface of the tube joint you can install the O-ring onto cooler refrigerant liquid pipe A while securing it with a bolt at a torque of 9.8 Nm (100 kgf-cm, 87 in-lbf). When installing the discharge tube sub-assembly remove the vinyl tape first before adding compressor oil to a new O-ring and then installing it with a bolt that should be torqued to 9.8 Nm (100 kgf-cm, 87 in-lbf). After properly installing the upper radiator support sub-assembly users must complete the hood lock assembly setup while considering the presence of an engine hood courtesy switch. The radiator grille and cool air intake duct seal need to be installed along with an inspection and adjustment of the hood sub-assembly when needed. To finish the operation you should refill the system with refrigerant followed by engine warming then a leak inspection for refrigerant.
