• Q: How to remove and install an A/C Condenser in a refrigeration system on 2007 Toyota Highlander?

  A: The condenser requires removal following refrigerant discharge from the refrigeration system using Special Service Tool: 07110-58060 (07117-58080, 07117-58090, 07117-78050, 07117-88060, 07117-88070, 07117-88080). Start the operation by taking out both the battery and radiator grille. Pipe A of the cooler refrigerant discharge requires bolt removal along with its O-ring before applying vinyl tape to block moisture and foreign material entry into the system. Perform the same procedure to disconnect pipe A which carries cooler refrigerant liquid. The radiator upper supports can be removed by releasing two bolts as well as two supports connecting rods. Subsequently detach the upper radiator section to extract the complete cooler condenser assembly. To install the bush on the lower side of the cooler condenser assembly must be inserted into the cross member while two bolts are tightened to a torque value of 9.8 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 87 in.lbf). The radiator upper support needs reinstallation through 2 securing bolts. Applying 40cc (1.4 fl.oz.) of ND-8 or equivalent compressor oil into the new condenser is necessary for replacement. To install cooler refrigerant liquid pipe A start by removing the vinyl tape then apply ND-OIL 8 or equivalent compressor oil to the pipe joint along with the O-ring and follow with a new O-ring and bolt connection torqued to 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 47 in.lbf). When installing cooler refrigerant discharge pipe A users need to apply compressor oil then tighten the connection to 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 47 in.lbf).
