2008 Toyota Highlander Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How do you remove the Blower Motor Resistor for the rear air conditioning on 2008 Toyota Highlander?
A: The first step to access the Blower Motor Controller for rear air conditioning requires removal of the rear door scuff plate RH followed by taking out the rear door opening trim Weather Strip RH. You must first remove the deck board assembly and after that the No. 3 deck board sub-assembly and finally the No. 2 deck board sub-assembly. The technician must remove both the tonneau cover assembly (with tonneau cover) and the rear seat side cover LH and deck side trim box LH. Begin by taking out the rear seat side cover RH followed by jack carrier support, jack carrier cushion and their accompanying jack assembly and jack carrier assembly. The next step involves taking out the deck side trim box RH and then you should remove the rear mat followed by the deck floor board assembly. Detach the rear No. 2 seat inner belt assembly and disconnect both rear seat lap type belt assemblies (LH and RH). Take out the rear No. 2 seat assembly followed by removing the rear floor finish plate and then proceed with the removal of rear seat side garnish cap and deck side trim cover RH and deck side trim RH. First separate the side trim cover RH only when working on manual air conditioning system and the rear room temperature sensor for automatic air conditioning system if applicable. You need to eliminate the rear combination light service cover RH followed by removing the rope hook assembly for the RH side along with the No. 1 luggage compartment trim hook and front deck side trim cover RH and deck trim side panel assembly RH and roof side inner garnish assembly RH. The final step requires disconnecting the connector followed by removing two screws to properly remove the blower motor controller.
