2009 Toyota Avalon Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to install the Knock Sensor and complete the associated components on 2009 Toyota Avalon?
A: First install the 2 knock control sensors using bolts that reach 20 Nm torque of 204 kgf-cm or 15 ft-lbf after connecting their respective sensors. After mounting the intake manifold the installer should attach the intake air surge tank then proceed to connect the air cleaner cap with its hose. The cable needs attachment to the negative battery terminal but there may be systems requiring system initialization upon cable reconnect. Engine coolant must be added to the system after inspecting both coolant and fuel leaks. In the V-bank cover sub-assembly installation proceed next with cowl top panel outer assembly then position the windshield wiper motor & link assembly. The final step is to inspect throttle body operation.
