- Q: How to remove the Neutral Safety Switch from the U341E automatic transaxle on 2009 Scion xD?A: The removal process for the Neutral Safety Switch on the U341E automatic transaxle begins with the removal of engine under cover LH. To separate the transmission control cable assembly begin by removing its nut then disconnect it from the control shaft lever and clip from the control cable bracket. The next step consists of removing the park/neutral position switch assembly after disconnecting its connector and separating the nut, washer and control shaft lever. The lock plate must be pried apart leaving room to remove the manual valve shaft nut before using a screwdriver to eliminate the 2 bolts necessary for pulling out the position switch assembly.
