- Q: How to remove the A/C Condenser on 2009 Scion xB?A: Refrigerant discharge from the system should be completed as the first step before obtaining the HVAC condenser. Ongoing instructions start with taking off the No. 1 radiator grille garnish then moving on to remove the radiator grille before removing the front bumper cover. You can access the battery carrier first by unfastening both the bolt and the nut. Disassemble the No. 1 water hose clamp bracket through the removal of its 2 bolts. The service procedure starts with disconnecting the hood lock control cable followed by removing the hood lock support sub-assembly. The next step is to unscrew the 2 bolts which detach the radiator support cushion together with the No. 2 fan shroud. Users must disconnect the discharge hose sub-assembly through removing the bolt and pulling the discharge hose free from the cooler condenser. Remove the O-ring which is attached to the discharge hose during this process. Protect the disconnected components from outside objects by sealing their entry points with vinyl tape. Next disconnect the air conditioning tube by removing the bolt and removing the tube from the condenser while also taking out the air conditioning tube O-ring after sealing the tube ends with vinyl tape. Complete the removal of the condenser from the vehicle by being cautious to prevent damages to both the condenser and radiator.
