2009 Scion tC Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove the TPMS Sensor and Transmitter on 2009 Scion tC?
A: The first step to remove the Tire Pressure Warning Valve and Transmitter requires both front and rear wheel removal. The tire pressure warning valve sub-assembly comes out through the process of removing the valve core and valve cap followed by air release from the tire. Proper air release from the tire will allow you to separate the nut and washer that secure the tire pressure warning valve and transmitter so they can naturally fall into the tire cavity. It is recommended to retain the valve core and nut and cap together with the washer. Insert the valve and transmitter inside the tire when you drop them by using the tire remover shoe to loosen the tire bead during the operation. Maintain caution to prevent both components from sustaining damage because of tire bead interference. The tire pressure warning valve and transmitter must be extracted from the tire after the bead on the upper side is removed in standard fashion. Verify the grommet for any damage before performing replacement when problems are detected.
