2008 Scion tC Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to remove the TPMS Sensor and Transmitter on 2008 Scion tC?
A: The first step to remove the Tire Pressure Warning Valve and Transmitter is to take off both front and rear wheels. To drop the tire pressure warning valve and transmitter into the tire you must first remove the valve core and cap next release the air then untighten the nut with washer until they fall into the tire opening. The procedure recommends saving the spare valve core together with valve cap as well as nut and washer. When dropping the valve along with the transmitter into the tire you should use the shoe on the tire remover but stay cautious to prevent valve and transmitter damage from the tire bead interference. To complete the process remove the bead from the upper side using regular methods before extracting the tire pressure warning valve and transmitter out of the tire to finish opening the bead on the lower side with standard procedures. Check the grommet for damage before replacement in case any signs of fault become apparent.
