Starting the replacement of the ignition switch assembly for the 2AZ-FE requires users to disconnect the battery cable from the negative terminal while waiting for 90 seconds to avoid Air Bag and seat belt pretensioner activation. You can access the screws at the lower cover and 2 screws by rotating the steering wheel until you reach them for steering column cover removal. You should first remove the connectors linking the ignition switch to the unlock warning switch before cutting the cable tie. Using a small screwdriver dismantle the claw fitting and after that remove the connector of the unlock warning switch. The removal process requires detachment of two screws which secure both the ignition switch and the lock stopper screw.
