How to install the oil cooler assembly on 2008 Toyota Tundra?

Start the installation of 1GR-FE lubrication system oil cooler assembly by cleaning the oil cooler contact area on its mounting. Before installing the oil cooler you need to apply a thin layer of oil to the new O-ring which must then be positioned into the oil cooler. The threads of the oil cooler union bolt require a light application of engine oil before installation. Fasten the oil cooler on its respective position by connecting the protrusion of the oil filter bracket to the cutout of the oil cooler while applying the plate washer and oil cooler union bolt with torques up to 68 Nm (693 kgf-cm, 50 ft-lbf). The installation requires connecting both oil cooler hoses to their respective counterparts on the oil cooler unit. For the next step you should place the oil filter sub-assembly in position before adding both engine oil and engine coolant. Examine oil levels before checking for leaks that present at the oil filter along with the safe operation of the cooling system. Finally, install the V-bank cover.
