2008 Toyota Tacoma Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to install the Radio Antenna Cable and its associated components on 2008 Toyota Tacoma?
A: The 4 claws need to be engaged before installing the Radio antenna cord sub-assembly. After installing the instrument panel sub-assembly you must install the instrument panel passenger Air Bag assembly while maintaining proper connection of the passenger Air Bag connector. You should install the instrument side panel RH followed by the instrument lower cover sub-assembly along with the lower instrument panel LH. The installation process starts with attaching the instrument panel lower finish panel sub-assembly RH then proceeding with the glove compartment door assembly and center instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly placement. Proceed with combination meter assembly and the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly before completing the installation with the No. 1 lower instrument panel finish panel. Put in the hood lock control lever sub-assembly followed by the radio receiver assembly then the air conditioning control assembly. Installation of the front console box should follow transmission and seat type specifications with support for manual and automatic transmission operations on bench or separate seat arrangements. The worker must install three components: the instrument panel cup holder tray for automatic transmission on separate seat type followed by the rear console box assembly for separate seat type then the console upper rear panel sub-assembly for both manual and automatic transmissions on separate seat type. The instrument panel hole cover should be installed for lever type parking brake systems while the instrument panel under tray works for pedal type parking brake setups. Throughout the last installation stage place the front pillar garnish RH and LH together with the front door opening trim Weather Strip RH and LH followed by the cowl side trim board RH and LH and finally add the front door scuff plate RH and LH and front floor footrest. The cable needs to be fastened to the battery negative terminal with a torque set to 3.9 Nm (40 kgf-cm, 35 in-lbf).
