Start removing the back door support by applying protective tape to the screwdriver tip before extracting the upper side stop ring and then the lower side stop ring and back door damper stay sub-assembly one by one. The next step requires the removal of the rear combination light assembly. The back door side stopper can be eliminated by unscrewing its 2 mounting bolts. Use the tool to disengage the three clips which will allow you to take off the back door stay cover. You can remove the back door stay lower bracket after you detach its two bolts then detach the upper bracket by removing both bolts. Apply the same step sequence to both RH and LH sides while keeping in mind that this description pertains to the LH side installation.
