How to disassemble the alternator on 2008 Toyota Sequoia?

Start the alternator disassembly by removing the generator pulley through the pulley holding tool (SST: 09820-63011, 09820-06010, 09820-06021) while clamping the generator housing stay in a vice and attaching the tool to the rotor shaft then tightening the socket clockwise to 39 Nm (398 kgf-cm, 29 ft-lbf). You should use the holding tool to loosen the pulley nut which requires counterclockwise rotation but stop before the half-turn limit to protect the rotor shaft. After this, remove the generator from the adapter followed by removing the pulley nut and pulley. Install the generator on the pulley before removing its three nuts and end cover and afterward its terminal insulator. You should detach the two screws along with the brush holder from the generator brush holder assembly. Take away the generator coil assembly by first dismounting four bolts then using eight special service tools (SST: 09950-40011, 09951-04020, 09952-04010, 09953-04020, 09954-04010, 09955-04071, 09957-04010, 09958-04011). Finally detach the coil assembly and remove the generator washer. Begin generator rotor assembly and drive end frame bearing removal through the process of taking out four screws and retainer plate followed by using special service tools (SST: 09950-60010, 09951-00250) with a hammer to tap out the bearing before employing an additional tool (SST: 09950-70010) if required.
