The first step towards removing the alternator involves disconnecting the negative battery cable while letting the SRS system disable for at least 90 seconds. The next step involves removing the No. 1 engine under cover sub-assembly then proceeding with removal of the throttle body cover sub-assembly and the air cleaner hose assembly. Clean the procedure by first taking off the fan V belt along with the generator V belt followed by the vane pump assembly disconnection. The generator assembly removal begins by disconnecting the generator assembly connector then removing the terminal cap and nut to disconnect the generator wire. Lastly remove the bolt to disconnect the wire harness bracket from the generator assembly and finish by removing the bolt and two nuts before detaching the generator assembly.

The first step to replace or remove an alternator requires disconnecting the battery cable from its negative terminal but waiting at least 90 seconds for the navigation system to record memory after switching off the ignition. The first step in the alternator replacement requires removal of three components consisting of battery and V-bank cover and engine under cover sub-assembly. The procedure also demands the removal of fan and generator V belt. The removal process starts by disconnecting the wire harness clamp bracket followed by generator connector and terminal cap and generator wire and wire harness clamp. After that disconnect the generator bolts then continue with the procedure. To install this component first fasten down the generator using two bolts tightened to 43 N.m (438 kgf.cm, 32 ft.lbf) followed by inserting the wire harness clamp bracket with bolting at 8.2 N.m (84 kgf.cm, 73 in.lbf) and installing the wire harness clamp afterward before connecting the generator wire with its nut torqued to 9.8 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 87 in.lbf). First install the terminal cap followed by plugging the generator connector into place and fasten the wire harness clamp bracket with the nut while torquing it to 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf). The final procedure comprises reinstalling the fan together with the generator V belt followed by the replacement of the No.1 engine under cover sub-assembly and V-bank cover before reattaching the battery cable to the negative terminal yet several systems may require initialization post-reconnection.

Disconnect the generator assembly connector, remove the terminal cap and nut to disconnect the generator wire, take out the bolt to disconnect the wire harness bracket from the generator assembly, and then remove the bolt and two nuts to detach the generator assembly.

Disconnect the generator connector and remove the terminal cap.

Install the battery and connect the cable to the negative battery terminal, noting that some systems may require initialization after reconnecting the cable.

Loosen the pulley nut by turning the holding tool counterclockwise, ensuring not to exceed a half turn to avoid damaging the rotor shaft.
