  • Q: How to remove the starter motor on 2008 Toyota Land Cruiser?
A: The first step to remove the starter motor includes disconnecting the battery cable from the negative terminal. First disconnect the front fender splash shield sub-assembly LH as well as the front fender splash shield sub-assembly RH. Before starting remove both No. 1 engine under cover sub-assembly as well as the No. 2 engine under cover. After the removal of the front fender apron seal front RH and the front fender apron seal rear RH you must proceed with the engine oil level dipstick guide. The technician will proceed by uninstalling the No. 1 manifold stay and both No. 1 exhaust manifold heat insulator and exhaust manifold sub-assembly RH. First eliminate the starter cover by unfastening its three mounting bolts. Complete the task by disconnecting the starter connector then removing the nut before disconnecting the starter wire and removing the 2 bolts which secure the starter and finally removing the flywheel housing side cover.
