  • Q: How to install the alternator assembly and its components on 2008 Toyota Land Cruiser?
A: The generator assembly needs three bolts and a nut installation that requires tightening to 43 Nm (418 kgf-cm, 32 ft-lbf). Connect the generator connector then fasten the generator wire using a nut which should be torqued to 12 Nm (122 kgf-cm, 9 ft-lbf). The terminal cap installation should begin with securing the harness bracket to the generator using a bolt tightened to 31 Nm (316 kgf-cm, 23 ft-lbf). Next connect the series of oil cooler pipes with the vane pump assembly. Succeeding installation of the front fender apron seal on the front RH side the mechanic will proceed to install the fan and generator V belt. Install the No. 1 engine under cover sub-assembly after which you must install the front fender splash shield sub-assembly on the LH along with the RH sides. After finishing up the installation of the V-bank cover sub-assembly and air cleaner assembly and air cleaner hose assembly, you can complete the work by attaching the cable to the negative battery terminal.
