2008 Toyota Land Cruiser Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove the A/C Condenser on 2008 Toyota Land Cruiser?
A: The removal process of an HVAC condenser begins with refrigerant recovery from the system followed by negative cable disconnect and at least 90 second wait time before turning off the SRS system. The next step requires separating the front bumper cover followed by disconnecting the No. 1 cooler refrigerant discharge hose through bolt and hose removal while preventing contact between tools and pipe and maintaining pipe position near its connector to remove the O-ring. Close off discarded components with vinyl tape to protect both the parts from moisture infiltration and outside materia. Remove the two bolts and cooler refrigerant pipe A while avoiding contact with the pipe and holding it near the connector to remove the O-ring and seal the openings of the parts. The work sequence calls for removing the high pitched horn assembly followed by the low pitched horn assembly then the shroud blower assembly. First remove the transmission oil cooler air duct with the four bolts then disconnect the oil cooler assembly by removing its four bolts. Perform the removal of the hood lock support brace sub-assembly which requires hood lock nut cap removal and bolt extraction of the 3 bolts along with the nut and brace. Begin by detaching the hood lock assembly together with the hood lock control cable cover. You must remove the radiator support sub-assembly by unbolting its eight bolts before taking out the cooler condenser assembly according to the provided illustration. One can remove the cooler dryer with a 14 mm socket hexagon wrench by first removing the cap from the modulator followed by removing the O-ring from the cap and lastly using pliers to take out the cooler dryer.
