    A: Service and repair operations for the trunk/liftgate lock need the wiper and washer systems to be properly secured before beginning work. The service starts by dismantling the back window upper trim panel assembly before proceeding to the back door trim cover on the left side (for no power back doors) compared to the back door service hole cover on the left side (with a power back door). The service on trunk/liftgate lock begins with disconnecting the power back door rod if present before removing the left back door trim cover for power back door models and the right back door trim cover for all other cases. The installation process begins with removing the back door lock cover for glass hatch types and also the assist strap hole cover and assist strap assembly. Movable parts for the next installment consist of the back door trim panel assembly along with the rear wiper shaft cover and rear wiper arm head cap and the rear wiper arm and blade assembly and the rear wiper link cap and the rear wiper link pivot. The final step consists of disconnecting the connector followed by disengaging the clamp while removing the 3 bolts and separating the clip until the process is finished.
