Disassembly of the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly begins with the removal of its adjusting nut and clip before you draw up the parking brake pedal claw to separate the components. Both 2WD and 4WD vehicles require removing their rear wheel before breaking apart their rear disc brake caliper assembly. Beginning from the rear, evacuate the disc part and eliminate the No. 1 parking brake shoe return tension spring before unplugging the No. 1 parking brake shoe assembly. The shoe strut of the parking brake must be taken off before separating the No. 2 parking brake shoe assembly. The next operation requires removing the parking brake shoe adjusting screw set and then the No. 1 parking brake shoe assembly. The service technician must remove the No. 2 parking brake shoe return tension spring as well as the No. 2 parking brake shoe assembly with attached parking brake shoe lever. The full detachment of the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly begins by removing its 2 bolts from the backing plate before removing a total of 2 bolts and 4 nuts for complete separation. Disassemble the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly by taking out its No. 1 parking brake cable support bracket. The assembly process starts by removing 2 bolts from the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly to detach it from the backing plate.
