First disconnect the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly through the process of adjusting the nut and clip before elevating the parking brake pedal claw to release the assembly. Both 2WD and 4WD vehicles require disassembly of their rear disc brake caliper unit after wheel removal. You should remove the rear disc first and then proceed with taking out the No. 1 parking brake shoe return tension spring before disassembling the No. 1 parking brake shoe assembly. The first step involves taking out the parking brake shoe strut and proceeding with the disassembly of the No. 2 parking brake shoe assembly. The first step is to remove the parking brake shoe adjusting screw set from the sequence and then separate the No. 1 parking brake shoe assembly. Continue the procedure by eliminating first the No. 2 parking brake shoe return tension spring and then the No. 2 parking brake shoe assembly including its parking brake shoe lever. Detach the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly from the backing plate by removing its 2 bolts and separate it completely using 2 bolts and 4 nuts. You should remove the support bracket from the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly of the No. 3 parking brake cable. Separate the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly from the backing plate by unfastening its 2 bolts before detaching it with its 2 bolts and 5 nuts.
