  • Q: How to remove the Knock Sensor on 2008 Toyota Camry?
    A: One must drain the fuel system pressure as the first step for Knock Sensor removal from the 2AZ-FE engine control system. esse first the negative battery cable and remove the Number 1 engine cover to drain the coolant. Start the operation by detaching both left and right windshield wiper arm and blades before moving to eliminate both front fender to cowl side seals from their mounting locations. You must take out both the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly and the windshield wiper motor and link. The cowl top panel outer sub-assembly requires removal of both 4 bolts and 4 nuts before extraction may proceed. Next comes the removal of the air cleaner cap sub-assembly then the air cleaner case sub-assembly followed by the throttle body part. Detach the fuel tube before removing the fuel delivery pipe together with its injector. The intake manifold requires disconnecting three assemblies which include union to check valve hose from the brake booster, the camshaft timing oil control valve connector and wire harness clamp before removing the union to check valve hose from the vacuum hose clamp. End the operation by removing the 5 bolts and 2 nuts which detach the intake manifold from the engine block through the gasket and knocking sensor nut and connector.
