2008 Toyota Camry A/C Compressor Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to remove the A/C Compressor and pulley on 2008 Toyota Camry?
A: The first step for removing the air conditioning compressor and pulley from 2AZ-FE engines requires extracting refrigerant from the refrigeration system. You must disconnect the refrigerant lines but should wait for 90 seconds past when you disconnect the cable to stop Air Bag activation. The first step requires draining engine coolant followed by front right wheel removal together with engine under cover right and front fender apron seal right. The following steps include generator assembly removal after V-ribbed belt detachment. Use pliers to detach radiator hose outlet by sliding off the clip claws. Disconnect the piping clamp of the No. 1 cooler refrigerant discharge hose and suction hose using proper tools. The technician must disconnect the No. 1 cooler refrigerant discharge hose by removing both a bolt and an O-ring before sealing the openings with vinyl tape to block moisture and foreign matter. Repetitive steps should also be carried out on the No. 1 cooler refrigerant suction hose. The last step includes unfastening both connector and four bolts to separate engine wire harness bracket with compressor and pulley.
