2008 Toyota Avalon Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to install a Vapor Canister and its related components on 2008 Toyota Avalon?
A: Installation of the charcoal canister assembly requires installing 2 bolts with the clip and charcoal canister while torquing to 36 Nm (367 kgf-cm, 27 ft-lbf). Connect first the purge line hose to the charcoal canister followed by installation of the wire harness clamp then the vapor pressure sensor connector and finally the charcoal canister filter sub-assembly. The procedure ends with fuel tank vent hose connection. The next procedure requires installation of the fuel tank assembly followed by parking brake cable assembly No.3 and parking brake cable assembly No.2. Put the exhaust pipe assembly center in place then join the fuel pump tube sub-assembly components. After add fuel you must attach the negative terminal to the battery before testing for fuel and exhaust gas leaks. To finish installation you must put on the rear floor service hole cover along with the rear seat cushion assembly and conduct system initialization because several systems need it after battery terminal removal.
