2009 Toyota Avalon Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove the Vapor Canister on 2009 Toyota Avalon?
A: The procedure to remove the Evaporative Emission Control Canister starts with blocking gasoline spills then disconnecting the battery cable negative terminal. The first step involves taking out both the rear seat cushion assembly along with the rear floor service hole cover. Open the fuel pump tube sub-assembly while draining the fuel out of it. The technician should detach the exhaust pipe assembly center followed by cable disconnect from parking brake assembly No.2 and No.3. The next step requires removal of the fuel tank assembly followed by disconnection of the fuel tank vent hose from the charcoal canister by pushing its connector into the depth while pinching and extracting portion A. To remove the charcoal canister filter sub-assembly from the charcoal canister engineers need to follow the same steps before separating the vapor pressure sensor connector and wire harness clamp while also unhooking the purge line hose. To complete the procedure remove the charcoal canister and its 2 bolts along with the clip.
