2008 Toyota Avalon Throttle Body Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to remove the throttle body on 2008 Toyota Avalon?
A: The removal process of the throttle body from a 2GR-FE engine control system starts with draining the engine coolant. After disconnecting the battery cable from the negative terminal remember the initialization step may apply before returning it. The V-bank cover sub-assembly and air cleaner cap with its hose must be removed. The plumber must disconnect the two hoses of the throttle w/ motor body assembly to separate the water by-pass hose. Then disconnect the throttle w/ motor body assembly connector while also removing four bolts connecting the throttle w/ motor body assembly with the intake air surge tank. The throttle body gasket needs removal from the intake air surge tank.
