- Q: How to service and repair the throttle body on 2007 Toyota Avalon?A: Service or repair of the throttle body requires beginning with draining engine coolant and disconnecting the negative battery cable. Begin service by removing both the V-bank cover sub-assembly and the combination of air cleaner cap along with hose. The service of the throttle motor body starts with hose separation by removing connections between these water bypass lines and the throttle w/ motor body assembly. The throttle w/ motor body assembly removal procedure requires users to disconnect its connector while removing four bolts securing it to the intake air surge tank then debonding the throttle body gasket. Position the new throttle body gasket on top of the intake air surge tank after which you should install the throttle w/ motor body assembly alongside the wire harness clamp stay using four bolts secured with 10 N.m (102 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf) torque setting while reconnecting the throttle w/ motor body assembly connector. Reinstall the air cleaner cap with its hose before connecting cables to the negative terminal and checking for leaks while installing water by-pass hoses to the throttle w/ motor body assembly. Engine coolant refill should also be performed. After installing the V-bank cover sub-assembly check whether the throttle body performs correctly after performing system initialization procedures following battery terminal disconnection.
