• Q: How to replace the Throttle W/Throttle Body Assembly on 2006 Toyota Avalon?

  A: One must start by draining engine coolant followed by disconnecting the negative battery terminal cable before proceeding with Throttle W/Motor Body Assembly replacement. Uninstall the V-bank cover sub-assembly together with the air cleaner cap and air cleaner hose before disconnecting the water by-pass hose from its attachments to the throttle w/motor body assembly. To begin the operation, disconnect the connector from the throttle w/motor body assembly before removing its four bolts and extracting the piece from the intake air surge tank while removing the throttle body gasket. To install a throttle w/motor body assembly the technician should position a new throttle body gasket onto the intake air surge tank then bolt the four parts to the intake air surge tank with 10 N.m (102 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf) torque before reattaching the throttle w/motor body assembly connector. Complete the procedure by installing the throttle w/motor body assembly hose connections and fitting the air cleaner cap with hose and reconnecting the negative terminal on the throttle w/motor body assembly. Engine coolant should be added before seeking leak inspection.
