  • Q: How to remove the front wiper motor on 2008 Scion xB?
    A: Begin the task by detaching the windshield wiper arm covers at their claws using a screwdriver wrapped in tape and removing both parts. Depress the wiper then set the motor to automatic stop. Unbolt the front wiper arm at the left-hand side and repeat this process on the right side. Removal starts with uncoupling five clips before taking out the hood to cowl top seal and continuing with removing the right-hand cowl top ventilator louver by pulling off the clip and disconnecting its six claws. Unclip the attachment and release the two claws of the left-hand cowl top ventilator louver. Unbolt the motor and link from their positions by removing 2 fasteners then running the wiper link off the rubber pin while disconnecting the connector to take out both parts. After protecting the crank arm with tape wrap, pry the second rod off using a screwdriver while you also pry the first rod off the same pivot. Remove the front wiper motor by using a "TORX" socket wrench Model T30 to get rid of the 2 screws.
