- Q: How to remove the Radiator Cooling Fan Motor on 2008 Scion xB?A: The first step to remove the Radiator Cooling Fan Motor consists of evacuating the refrigerant from the refrigeration system. The correct replacement order is to start by taking off the No. 1 radiator grille garnish followed by removing the radiator grille and the front bumper cover. First drain engine coolant from the system before you take off the battery. The radiators can be serviced by dividing the No. 1 water clamp bracket from the hood control and then removing the hood lock assembly. Next one should separate the radiator outlet hoses from the inlet while also removing the support cushion. The condenser must be removed after separating the discharge hose sub-assembly along with the air conditioning tube and accessory assembly from the No. 2 fan shroud. First remove the No. 1 water by-pass hose then disconnect it and take out the radiator assembly together with the lower radiator support. The first step includes removing inlet and outlet radiator hoses before taking away the fan shroud assembly. The No. 2 fan removal process includes disassembling the nut and fan which leads to removing the No. 2 cooling fan motor by unclipping the wire harness clamp and removing its 3 bolts. Following the last step involves removing the cooling fan motor after disconnecting the wire harness clamp and removing the three bolts.
