• Q: How to remove the Radiator Cooling Fan Motor on 2009 Scion xB?

  A: Before starting to remove the Radiator Cooling Fan Motor for the 2AZ-FE engine the first step should be evacuating refrigerant from the refrigeration system. The following steps include the removal of the No. 1 radiator grille garnish along with the radiator grille followed by the front bumper cover. The first step should be draining the engine coolant followed by battery removal. Users should detach the No. 1 water hose clamp bracket followed by disassembling the hood lock control cable assembly and the hood lock support sub-assembly. The first step includes removing inlet and outlet radiator hoses followed by taking out the radiator support cushion while also deleting the No. 2 fan shroud. Before removing the condenser it is necessary to disconnect both the air conditioning tube and accessory assembly and the discharge hose sub-assembly. Clients must first separate the No. 1 water by-pass hose after which they can remove the radiator assembly along with the lower radiator support, inlet radiator hose and outlet radiator hose. The nut that holds the No. 2 fan must be unfastened before fan shroud and No. 2 fan removal. To start you should remove the nut securing the fan. To remove the No. 2 cooling fan motor the wire harness clamp should be separated along with removal of the 3 bolts before extracting the motor.
