  A: The installation of the 2AZ-FE cooling system water pump requires removal of previous seal packaging material from contact surfaces followed by application of continuous Toyota Genuine Seal Packing Black or Three Bond 1207B or equivalent to the same standard 2.2-2.5 mm (0.09-0.10 in.) diameter. Documents indicate that applying seal packing should be completed with contact surface free of oil before moving forward within 3 minutes of application because otherwise the material requires replacement. You must install the water pump together with the clamp bracket by using 4 bolts and 2 nuts and finally torquing them to 9.0 Nm (92 kgf-cm, 80 in-lbf). The crankshaft position sensor wire goes onto the clamp bracket before the bracket is fastened at the front of the water pump.
