2008 Scion tC Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to remove the front Sway Bar Kit on 2008 Scion tC?
A: The first step to remove the front sway bar kit is to position the front wheel straight forward. Initiate the process by taking out the silencer sheet on the column hole cover followed by separating the No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly and the No. 1 steering column hole cover sub-assembly. Start by unscrewing the front wheel and afterward detach the engine under-coverings from both left and right sides. Use a 6 mm hexagon wrench to hold the front sway bar link stud when removing two nuts off its left side following the ball joint turn. Follow the identical method to disconnect the right side components. Both tie rod end sub-assemblies along with the pressure feed tube require removal from the left and right sides of the vehicle. Both front suspension No. 1 lower arm sub-assemblies need disconnection through the same procedures executed on the right side as on the left. Disconnect the front floor panel brace while also taking out the center exhaust pipe assembly. The following maintenance step consists of hood sub-assembly and No. 1 engine cover sub-assembly removal. Kiln the engine suspension before extracting the No. 1 hook and the front suspension crossmember sub-assembly from its assembly. To detach the front No. 1 sway bar bracket LH you must remove its two bolts while also executing this method on the right-hand side. The service procedure involves removing the front No. 1 sway bar bushes and finally extracting the front sway bar kit from the assembly.
