2007 Toyota Yaris Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to maintain the Washer Pump for your sedan on 2007 Toyota Yaris?
A: Starting the windshield washer motor service for the sedan requires disconnecting the negative battery lead. Service the windshield washer motor on the sedan by first removing the front spoiler cover with the front bumper cover along with the right headlight assembly. The washer fluid must drain when users remove the hose which connects to the windshield washer motor and pump. When servicing the windshield washer jar assembly you must disconnect the harness clamps followed by connectors before removing the two bolts to access the jar; equipment with washer level warning switch requires separate removal of two connectors and harness clamps. You should pull the windshield washer motor and pump assembly out from its packed position in the washer jar. Install the windshield washer motor and pump assembly by placing it on the washer jar packing before mounting the jar. The washer level warning switch needs two bolts with Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf) for installation. After bolting the switch, connect the two connectors followed by harness clamps. For pieces without this warning switch, install the two bolts (Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)) and connect the connector then the harness clamps. The washer fluid filling process starts by linking the washer hose to the motor and pump which results in filling up the washer jar and pump assembly. The last installation step includes returning the right headlight assembly followed by the front bumper cover and front spoiler cover while using the required torque of 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf) to reconnect the cable to the negative battery terminal.
