2007 Toyota Tundra Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service the Steering Angle Sensor on 2007 Toyota Tundra?
A: One must disconnect the battery cable from the negative terminal for at least ninety seconds to stop Air Bag and pretensioner activation and check that the ignition switch is turned OFF first to allow recording of navigation settings. Place the front wheels in a straight forward position before removing the lower No. 3 steering wheel cover, lower No. 2 steering wheel cover, steering pad, steering wheel assembly, lower steering column cover, upper steering column cover, spiral cable sub-assembly followed by the steering angle sensor. The installation order starts with the steering angle sensor and continues with the spiral cable sub-assembly followed by upper and lower steering column covers and spiral cable adjustment. Reconnect the negative battery cable after installing the steering wheel assembly together with steering pad and lower No. 3 and lower No. 2 steering wheel covers. Initialize selected systems after reconnecting the cable since some require it. Examine the SRS warning light for correct functionality as the last step of the procedure.
