The negative cable should be disconnected for 90 seconds or longer to stop the Air Bag from activating. Faced frontwards position the wheels before you remove successively the No. 2 steering wheel lower cover and then the No. 3 steering wheel lower cover. Begin the service by taking off the horn button assembly together with the steering wheel assembly and steering column lower cover and steering column upper cover. The technician should disconnect the connector and release both claws while removing the headlight dimmer switch assembly and windshield wiper switch assembly and spiral cable sub-assembly.
