How to Remove and Replace a Seat Belt Assembly on 2007 Toyota Solara?

The removal process of the Front Seat Outer Belt Assembly LH requires technicians to start with Rear Seat Cushion Assembly then progress to Rear Seatback Assembly LH followed by Rear Seatback Hinge Sub-Assembly LH and Front Door Scuff Plate LH along with Quarter Trim Panel Assembly Front LH. After verifying a turned OFF ignition switch and the cable disconnection of the negative battery terminal for 90 seconds first disconnect the pretensioner connector. Starting with removal of the seat belt cover and four bolts allows you to take out the outer belt. The First Step of installation includes attaching the Front Seat Outer Belt Assembly LH which requires keeping the retractor intact. To ensure proper functionality of the retractor check its angle: when the angle is under 15 degrees the belt should pull from the retractor while a slope greater than 45 degrees should result in manual belt locking; the outer belt assembly needs replacement when it fails to work correctly. The 4 bolts must be tightened with a bolt A torque of 7.5 N.m (77 kgf.cm 66 in.lbf) and a bolt B torque of 42 N.m (430 kgf.cm 31 ft.lbf) in order to secure the outer belt. The final procedure requires a battery terminal connection for the Power Window Control System initialization followed by the Sliding Roof System initialization before checking the SRS warning light.
